Job Description
We are seeking a skilled AWR Cloud Engineer to join our team. As an AWR Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the cloud infrastructure and systems for Automatic Weather Reporting (AWR) services. Your expertise in cloud technologies and weather data processing will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and real-time weather reporting for our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cloud Infrastructure Management: Design, deploy, and maintain the cloud-based infrastructure for AWR services, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security.
- Data Storage and Processing: Manage and optimize data storage solutions, enabling efficient processing and analysis of weather data from various sources.
- Integration and Automation: Collaborate with software developers and data scientists to integrate AWR systems with various data sources and automate data collection and processing pipelines.
- Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor and optimize the performance of AWR cloud services to ensure responsiveness and reliability.
- Security and Compliance: Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with data protection regulations, safeguarding sensitive weather data.
- Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Identify and resolve technical issues related to AWR cloud systems promptly, minimizing downtime and disruptions.
- System Upgrades and Maintenance: Plan and execute system upgrades and maintenance tasks, keeping AWR services up to date and reliable.
- Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for AWR cloud infrastructure, configurations, and procedures.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, data scientists, and meteorologists, to deliver seamless AWR solutions.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest cloud technologies and industry trends, and actively contribute to enhancing AWR cloud services’ performance and efficiency.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience in designing and managing cloud-based infrastructure, preferably in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Familiarity with weather data processing and meteorological concepts is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++.
- Strong understanding of data storage technologies, databases, and data processing frameworks.
- Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
